Cultural Advocacy
Through the demonstration of regenerative agricultural practices that instill a deep reverence for the land, catalyze food sovereignty, and support ancestral womb care, Cultural Advocacy cultivates communities that nurture reciprocal relationships with Mother Earth and each other.
The Food Solidarity Garden is a .75 acre garden that will grow 7,000 lbs of vegetables, grains, and medicinal herbs in 2023 using regenerative agricultural practices. The harvest will be allocated to local food relief organizations, houseless vocational training programs, and Food Solidarity Garden volunteers in exchange for their participation during the growing season.
Food insecurity is a reality for 15% of Boulder County residents, a large portion of which are youth under the age of 18.
Postpartum Care Project
The Community Roots Midwife Collective is a team of dedicated, passionate midwives and reproductive health practitioners working to create a self-sustaining healthcare organization that provides homebirth options and reproductive health care to ALL, regardless of financial position.
DAR is partnering with Harvest of All First Nations and the Community Roots Midwife Collective to host traditional Closing of the Bones ceremonies to support the healthy transition into motherhood.
DAR is supporting a food sovereignty project with Shoshone Tribal Members on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming.
Wind River Reservation
Wyoming’s Wind River Country is home to the seventh largest Indian reservation in the country. Encompassing more than 2.2 million acres, the Wind River Indian Reservation is home to the Eastern Shoshone and the Northern Arapaho tribes.

Spirit of the Sun’s mission is to work in partnership with Native American communities in urban areas and on reservations to support today's youth to become the next generation of Native leaders, entrepreneurs, and skilled professionals who will help guide their communities toward wellness, prosperity, and cultural revitalization.
Harvest of All First Nations
Harvest of All First Nations is an Indigenous-led organization that serves primarily BIPOC and underserved communities through education, ancestral healing practices, and reclamation of Indigenous Knowledge and lifeways. Their goal is to achieve reciprocal relationships between people and all living relatives of Turtle Island and Condor Nations, through a strong lens of eco-feminism and rematriation.

This treatment tends to new parents in the postpartum time (even years after giving birth) as well as trauma survivors. The offering includes an herbal bath at home or in a sauna followed by a womb massage and the closing using woven scarves/rebozos, integrating traditional ancestral knowledge throughout. There is a suggested fee for the treatment as well as available scholarships.
